Botanical Casting at Miserden

Local artist Clare Mahoney guides you through preserving a moment in time by using foraged botany to make clay impressions.

You will venture into the garden and seek inspiration to create your own botanical piece.  Returning to the beautiful vintage glasshouses, you will then use clay impressions to form a mould to be flooded with plaster and Cornish stone, producing pieces that celebrate the beauty of the natural world.

The botanical cast dries quickly, so can be taken home at the end of the workshop.

Clare's stunning ceramic pieces have been on display at Miserden during the Cotswold Sculptors Association Creating Spaces exhibition.

Her creations reflect her love of the natural world, capturing its beautiful textures, pattern and rhythms through the medium of clay. The are made and designed by hand using porcelain and hand building methods.
