Did you know that the Cotswolds has lost over 96% of its limestone grasslands since the 1930s, but what remains represents over 50% of the UK's total?

Miserden Estate is proud to work with the Royal Agricultural University for the last 30 years to actively manage low-input wildflower grassland through conservation grazing with cattle.  Our small herd of Belted Galloway cattle play a vital role in controlling dominant species and maintaining diversity within the sward, promoting the conditions for wildflowers which in turn support 28 different species of butterflies.

These cattle produce high quality, locally-produced, pasture-fed beef with

  • a higher percentage of healthy fats, including omega-3 fatty acids
  • a lower percentage of saturated fat compared to grain-fed beef
  • higher levels of certain vitamins and antioxidants, particularly vitamin E and beta-carotene

The above are the contents of a typical box.  The joints are cut to suit a family of four, the steaks are a mix of either rump, sirloin, fillet or rib-eye and the roasting joints are either top side, silver side or top rump.

All the meat is of the highest quality and from Tuesday 19th August the large boxes can be personally delivered within Gloucestershire area fresh from the butchers at no extra cost.  From Wednesday 20th August the meat will be frozen and also hand delivered in the Gloucestershire area at no cost.

The medium and small boxes can be delivered either fresh within Gloucestershire on the 19th August at an additional charge of £5 or frozen from 20th August with additional courier charges.

Alternatively the beef boxes can be collected directly from Miserden Estate Office or Miserden Village Stores.
